Description
If you own a 1960-1966 Imperial it’s likely that you have experienced the failure of the door hinge “stop” and spring. This piece (and it’s attached spring) prevents the door from “over-opening.” Unfortunately the original equipment pieces just weren’t up to the task and they failed. A prominent Imperial restorer on the west coast decided to solve this problem by replicating and improving the flawed piece. When he passed away a few years ago we were able to buy these pieces from his estate, and so are now able to offer them to Imperial owners and restorers. The package includes the new and improved “stop plate,” two pins, a roller sleeve and a new spring. All you need to fix the problem. Anyone with moderate mechanical ability can do the job in a few hours. If you go the Imperial On Line Club and search for door hinge stop repair you can see step by step photos of the fix using this kit. Your Imperial deserves this repair and so do you!
