Description
It took us a long time to fully research and sort out an all -inclusive 6 to 12 volt conversion kit for your car, but finally, here it is!
Kit includes: 100 amp internally regulated alternator with 5/8″ pulley, generator to alternator bracket, 2 wire hook-up kit, 10 AWG battery connection wire, 12 volt coil, horn relay, headlight relay, gas gauge reducer, alternator output fuse wiper motor reducer ( if needed) heater reducer all interior and exterior 12 volt light bulbs that fit original sockets, turn signal flasher. All sourced SPECIFICALY for your Dodge!
This kit converts vehicle from postive to negative ground and keeps your original 6 volt starter in place.
All components in the vehicle will work the same on the new negative ground setup.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The original equipment 6 volt ignition coil on pre war Chrysler Corporation cars protruded THROUGH hole in the firewall and had the live ignition switch wire connection on the “bottom” of it, under the dashboard. The replacement 12 volt coil included in this kit has the live ignition switch connection on the “top” of the coil, like most post war coils. To install you’ll extend the wire from your igntiion switch to reach the top of the new coil, and either mount the coil ON the firewall or rig it up to go THROUGH the original hole.
Kit includes just about EVERYTHING you will need…only exceptions:
* If you are running a 6 volt radio you will need a special radio reducer component. You’ll have to call us for that.
* There is no reliable way to convert an early 6 volt clock to run reliably on 12 volt power. If you are running a clock ou’ll need to send your clock out to have it upgraded to a 12 volt motor. Easy to to do and not expensive. Call us if you need a referral.
* You supply the 12 volt battery of your choice.
Other than that, this kit is all inclusive!
Includes a 17 page instruction book, plus a list of frequently asked questions.
We’ve done all the research on this kit so that all you have to do is follow the directions, bolt up the components and pop in the new bulbs!
